Opening of a skate park in Kutaisi 2018, Georgia

The first skate park built by Olympic standards has opened in Georgia!

Kutaisi opened the first skate park in Georgia, made in accordance with European certification and Olympic standards. The skate park is specially designed and built for world class championships!

We were very touched by the story of the birth of this skate park … A group of young athletes led by Nini Xeladze (in the photo to the right of the mayor) have been actively developing this sport in Kutaisi for a long time …Nini was 10 years old when she first thought about the idea of a skate park for her hometown. Since then, for 7 years, Nini wrote letters to the city authorities with a request to build the first skate park in Georgia and collected rallies in support of this project …

Finally, in 2018, construction funds were raised and the youth of Kutaisi received a modern, world-class skate park.

Skate Park figures in Kutaisi:

  • Bunkramp with Quarter
  • Quarterpipe

The grand opening of the skate park was held on September 15, 2018. It was opened by the mayor of the city of Kutaisi, Giorgi Chigvaria (pictured in the center) with his son and Nini. The opening was attended by Georgian officials: Governor of Imereti region Shavlego Tabadze, vice governors Grigola Dalakishvili, Vladimir  Bojhadze,President of the Georgian Skateboarding Federation и and the head of the sports department Irakli Dolaberidze.
